
While this article in the Harvard Business Journal is a restatement of what we know to be true when presenting to senior executives, it’s a good reminder of a few important things:
- The need for preparation before we present (even though we’ve spent weeks and sometimes months creating the presentation and know it like the back of our hand)
- It’s always all about them, not us (even though we’ve spent weeks and sometimes month creating the presentation and it’s the best best idea we’ve come up with in our career)
- And finally, we as presenters and speakers are the ones responsible, not the listener, for making sure our message is clear, relevant, and understandable.
