In the new digital world, snake oil is being peddled by a new name: SEO.

All you need is a quick Google search to return hundreds of results for quick and cheap ways to increase your search rank immediately, exponentially multiply your social followers or a fantastic, search engine optimized website.

Remember what your mother always said: if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

This article from Search Engine Land is a great reminder, to both agencies and clients, that slow and steady wins the digital race – and that there are very real consequences for cutting corners. Real SEO and social results take real work – digital elbow grease, if you will – to have real, meaningful relationships and engagements with those customers who TRULY matter to your brand.
