Bettering the Patient Experience

New designs in hospital gowns, patient rooms, and wheelchairs are highlighted in this video clip. From what we’re seeing with the clients we’re working with, hospitals are working hard to better the patient experience with private rooms, immediate test results, less waiting, more privacy, less noise, etc. The few ideas shown in this video are further examples. You’ll note that the designers talk about patient dignity, patient modesty, and that patients can feel “unwell because of the garment they are required to wear.”  The piece ends with a comment regarding cost; basically, these items are not expensive, but will hospitals pay to make the changes?
